Acceptable Use Policy
The rules for using the DocoMatic platform and its free public tools. Most of it is common sense: process only documents you have the right to process, and do not attack the service.

1. What this covers
This policy applies to the DocoMatic platform, its API and the free public tools. It forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. Lawful documents you have rights to
Upload only documents that are lawful and that you have the right to process. Where documents contain personal information, you are responsible for your legal basis, and the Data Processing Agreement governs how we handle it on your behalf.
3. Prohibited conduct
3.1
No uploading malware or content designed to compromise the service or its users.
3.2
No attempts to break tenant isolation, access other customers' data, or probe or test the security of the service without written authorization.
3.3
No scraping this website beyond what robots.txt permits.
3.4
No circumventing the rate limits of the free public tools, and no automated bulk abuse of the free tools or trial accounts.
3.5
No reselling or misrepresenting verification results as something they are not.
3.6
No uploading protected health information under HIPAA unless a Business Associate Agreement has been signed with DocoMatic (Data Processing Agreement, section 11).
3.7
No uploading personal information that is subject to the EU or UK GDPR, which DocoMatic does not currently support.
3.8
Good-faith vulnerability reports are welcome through the disclosure process on the security page.
4. Enforcement
Depending on severity, violations lead to a warning, suspension or termination under the Terms of Service. We usually give notice and a chance to fix the problem first, unless the violation is serious or unlawful or threatens the service or other customers. Unlawful content is reported to authorities where the law requires it.
5. Reporting abuse
Report abuse of the platform or the public tools to [email protected]. Reports are read by a human and acknowledged.
